Our client is searching for a UI Developer to work in their Chicago office. The ideal candidate will be utilizing communication skills and expertise in information architecture to prototype new platforms for their always evolving investment teams, combined with advanced design and development skills in HTML, JavaScript and CSS to create high functioning/highly integrated dynamic applications for teams across the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of an established, experienced development team to build best in class client facing technology platforms
- Design, develop and deploy new application components using HTML, Advanced JavaScript, CSS, internal frameworks and 3rd party tools
- Contribute new ideas/best practices by providing teams with information architecture skills to prototype new technology concepts and prove out strategic alternatives
Requirements:
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- 3 years’ experience in HTML / CSS
- 1+ years python experience
- Solid knowledge of the MVC design pattern
- Solid knowledge of AngularJS, Backbone.js, ExtJS or other JavaScript Frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
- Webapp frameworks: Flask, Django, Bottle, web.py preferred
- Experience with google earth a plus
- Experience with Bokeh, matplotlib or similar data visualization packages strongly preferred
- HTML/CSS layout frameworks: Bootstrap, Foundation, UIKit, PureCSS, Skeleton a plus
- Exposure to COMET and web streaming technologies provided by third party vendors such as Lightstreamer desired
- Exposure to C#, WPF/XAML, Perl, SQL, scripting languages is a plus
- Financial industry experience is preferred
Education:
- Bachelors of Science (Master Degree preferred) in engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
