Our client is seeking an experience Trade Support Engineer to work in their Options Market Making team. The successful candidate will be working very closely with traders, developers and other support. This position will be responsible for the configuration management, support and assurance of the proprietary trading applications in multiple production locations.
Responsibilities:
- Configuration management of multiple production locations, covering options, equities and futures.
- System uptime, capacity, and performance among other aspects of day-to-day operations of OMM trading systems
- Work with development team in regression testing functionality, release management and performance
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Troubleshoot production application and infrastructure issues.
- Expected to suggest improvements to procedure and automation.
- Write scripts to generate various reports and tactical tools for traders and business team.
- Escalate issues pro-actively and ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast of issue status
- Write and manage documentation for the system
Requirements:
- Solid experience in UNIX/Linux, Networking, Perl/Python, Sybase SQL, Shell Scripting
- Able to work under pressure, both independently and as a team.
- Good attention to detail
- Proven problem solving skills, turning around with solutions in a demanding timeline
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills applicable to a dynamic trading environment
- Prior experience supporting traders or working on a trading desks
- Proven experience of application support and administration
- Experience with longer and more involved perl/python scripts.
- Knowledge of market data systems and/or order entry
- Familiarity with Options, Futures and Equity products

Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
