Our client is searching for a talented software engineer to join them in growing their quantitative trading business. The core technology team is responsible for the core platforms that includes electronic trading, risk and PnL systems. These systems are mission critical for the operation of the business and as such, the requirements for engineering quality are extremely high. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and build of software components that are foundational to the research and trading activities. Ideally you will be sufficient in the following languages: C++, Python, R and JavaScript
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, development and deployment of new and existing components pertaining to research and trading.
- Responsible for enhancing and extending the infrastructure and underlying libraries that make up the platform.
- Communicate and collaborate with the research and trading teams to design and deliver innovative and high quality solutions.
- Provide day-to-day support for applications and the underlying infrastructure
Experience:
- Strong programming skills and knowledge of computer science fundamentals (example: data structures.)
- 2-7 years software development experience in a role where Python or C++ is used.
- Working knowledge of Unix scripting.
- Experience of OO design and end-to-end software development.
- Very strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to demonstrate prior delivery in a demanding and fast paced environment.
Beneficial Skills:
- Significant software development experience in C++.
- Experience working with quantitative researchers.
- Experience of working with enterprise systems (particularly market data and reference data systems) in a financial firm.
- Systematic live trading experience
- Automated Portfolio optimization experience
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Maths, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
