Our Client seeks a Software Engineer who will work closely with Treasury business. This individual is expected to provide technical expertise to support, enhance, and refresh the portfolio finance, margin and the cash management systems and infrastructure. You must demonstrate ability to analyze complex business/technical problems and make sound technical decisions proactively and in a self-directed manner. The role will utilize C++ / Object-Oriented analysis, design, and programming to develop robust, flexible software solutions. Focus will be on reusable high performance applications and infrastructure.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the design, development and deployment of new and existing infrastructure components pertaining to treasury, portfolio finance, margin and cash management.
- Responsible for proposing new designs and modifying existing ones to continuously improve performance, functionality, and stability of the system.
- Responsible for enhancing and extending the infrastructure and communication libraries used by the components within Treasury.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with trading desk, level 1 support, and peer technology teams.
- Provide day-to-day level 2 application support for multiple Treasury applications and infrastructure globally.
- Interact with both internal and external group members and business users to help further understanding these new models in the business applications.
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in systems analysis, design and programming in C++ and python in a Unix/Linux environment with a strong emphasis in numerical programming
- 5 years experience in multi-threaded and real time programming w/ trading applications
- Working knowledge of databases, SQL and UNIX scripting.
- Experience of building enterprise systems
- 3-5 years experience in developing economic and/or financial model and/or financial applications
- Strong sense of urgency and customer focus
- Ability to communicate well with various levels of the business; written and verbal
- High intellectual curiosity and capacity
- Energy and enthusiasm to learn financial markets and investment lifecycle
Education:
- MBA or Masters Degree in computer science or quantitative field. PhD preferred.
