Responsibilities:

• Design/test/build from the ground up solutions to networking needs
• Help diagnose and solve network issues in mission-critical systems and applications
• Install and configure network and security devices according to industry best practices
• Work closely and collaboratively with systems engineers and developers across the company
• Execute routine preventative measures and implement, maintain and monitor network security
• Assist with planning and implementation of the network for constant improvement and optimization

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Network Engineering or related engineering fields
• Excellent academic background in highly-technical engineering discipline
• 8+ years hands-on experience in academic or professional computing environment
• Familiarity with *nix and/or open-source network management tools
• Strong understanding of layer 2 switching infrastructures, including RSTP, VLANs, Aggregate Ethernet
• Experience using or administering Unix-based operating systems, especially in the area of network and systems management
