Our client, a rapidly growing trading firm with global office locations is looking for experienced Traders. This role is primarily focused on researching, developing, operating, and optimising London’s European market strategies during the European trading day. The person will be expected to lead a small team in London which is currently focused on European equity related products. The position requires leadership, market knowledge, attention to detail, teamwork and a passion for improvement. The ideal candidate preferably has 5+ years of financial markets experience, primarily in a proprietary algorithmic trading environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Continued development, optimisation and progression of existing active strategies
- Conducting base research and quantitative analysis of European markets and market data
- New strategy idea generation, development and integration
- Active operation of strategies in response to market news and movements
- Hours 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in financial markets preferably with HFT, algorithmic trading, or comparable experience
- Working knowledge/understanding of European exchange microstructure
- Have familiarity with incumbent and alternative trading platforms
- Ability to do light development a programming language, preferably C++, proficiency in other languages (e.g. Java, C#, C, Python, R) is desirable
- Strong math aptitude, analytical and problem solving skills
- Quantitative background in math/stats, science, engineering or economics/finance
- Proven team leadership and/or management experience
- Capable of maintaining focus with a strong drive for success
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgement and lead effectively while under pressure
- Values teamwork and has a proven ability to cooperate with others but still can think and work independently
- Self-motivated and self-directed in personal growth and learning
- Has the ability to communicate effectively written and orally
Education
- Degree from an accredited university preferably in a science such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field while displaying a strong academic performance
