This Global Hedge Fund is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to add to the team providing real-time and end of day reporting/analysis of the infrastructure and trading systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain visualisation and reporting tools allowing for accurate and precise insight into trading and research environments.
- Interact with SQL/NoSQL/NewSQL datasets producing historical and real-time reports showing trends in latency,utilisation and performance for accurate capacity planning
- Build back end services for driving analytics front ends
- Manage open sourec application stacks
- Develop framework for automating applicable and repeatable tasks
Qualifications
- Experience of designing/deploying and scaling operations and monitoring tools
- Producing reports from different data sources
- Knowledge of infrastructure equipment,functionality and operations
- Experience of NoSQL or distributed database systems (HBase, Spark, Cassandra) beneficial
- Strong Command-Line Unix/Linux with revision control, debugging, monitoring and managing a networked scaled application
- Familiarity with various time series, document and kv stores, OpenTSDB, InfluxDB, ElasticSearch, Lucene, memcached
- Developing applications in Python, Perl, C, Java
- Experience working with pub/sub architectures and streaming data pipelines
- Experience ofLarge ETL workloads
- Working with software defined storage technologies
- Experience of JavaScript, bootstrap, JQuery, D3, backbone, Angular, Underscore is beneficial
- Implementing identity and authentication frameworks (CAS/SAML)
- Large scale storage systems (NAS/SAN)
- Understanding clock synchronisation methods is a big plus
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related engineering/science curriculum
