Our client is searching for an experienced R&D Engineer to join them in New York. This team works with with senior researchers (QRs) in the firm and focuses on tools and data infrastructure, mainly in the area of model building (using statistical methods). As well as interacting with QRs, the team also works with other software developers supporting research teams. Interacting with and addressing the needs of the clients will be an important component of the job.

Responsibilities:

• A talented and enthusiastic developer with passion for technology and desire to learn.
• Excellent working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, C++) is preferred.
• Any additional knowledge in the areas of functional programming, compilers, graph algorithms, type systems or mathematics are a plus but not a requirement.

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of C++, systems etc. is a plus.
• The candidate is expected to be highly self-motivated and independent.
• Contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation of new features, to testing, and bug fixing.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an allied field.
