This position is with a well-establish and highly regarded proprietary trading firm, working on a very successful desk with a great team of quants, traders and technologists. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a small and very successful trading group and develop robust and performance critical systems and strategies in Python. They engage in mid-frequency, cross-asset systematic trading and have a strong presence in the FX and futures markets. The core code is written in Python with some key components in C++.The main focus of the role will be improving the execution engine to reduce slippage and market impact. This will have a vital impact on facilitating growth of the desk going. You will be building, maintaining, improving and supporting real-time trading systems and strategies in Python.

They are looking for someone with strong Python programming skills and experience building robust, performance critical systems.

You will be a key player in a small team and work closely with the business. Your contributions will make a significant difference to the future success of the team and you will be rewarded appropriately.

No prior finance experience is necessary. What they are looking for is a passionate and motivated Software Engineer with strong Python skills and the ability to make a real contribution to the growth of a very successful team.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test software for real-time signal generation and trade execution
  • Develop tools to be used for post-trade analytics, reconciliation, performance monitoring and attribution reporting.
  • Implement strategies and signals in production using the desks framework
  • Design and implement execution algorithms
  • Monitor and analyse slippage and suggest execution algorithm changes based on the results. Work with a researcher to make these changes and create metrics to quantify the success.
  • Actively engage and participate in the continuous refinement of trading desks’ systems and strategies
