Our client is searching for an experienced Platform Reliability Engineer to join their team. This team is constantly evaluating existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities to increase automation, improve visibility and reduce interruption. Members of the Platform Reliability Engineering team collaborate with Traders, Quantitative Researchers and Business leaders to advance their technology stack. This team is working in the areas such as Systems Architecture, Predictive analytics, Self-Healing automation frameworks, and Continuous Integration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage configuration, performance and 100% uptime of distributed trading platform, which covers multiple asset classes.
- Meticulously curate and create industry and open source technologies to advance the platform capabilities.
- Continually experiment, improvise and translate ideas to automation solutions.
- Develop tactical applications for traders and business users.
- Build and improve a culture of shared responsibility, transparency, and continuous feedback.
Requirements:
- Ability to orchestrate large-scale distributed systems that support real-time transaction processing.
- Solid experience in UNIX/Linux, Networking, Python, and SQL.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to drive large and scalable projects.
- Good communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams, as applicable to a dynamic trading environment.
Nice to have:
- Financial industry experience.
- Exposure to continuous integration, deployment, and release management frameworks such as Bamboo or Jenkins.
- Exposure to open source frameworks similar to Ansible, Kibana, Kafka, SQLite, Mongo.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Exposure to virtualization and container technologies
Education:
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related
