Required Skills:
- Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience with C++ development
- Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience with Perl scripting (proficient knowledge)
- Must have experience programming in Linux or other UNIX environments.
- Linux, OO Perl, SQL, RDBMS (Sybase, Python a plus).
- Must be familiar with STL, templates, threading, networking (e.g. TCP/IP, multicast communications).
- Must have a solid background in data structures, algorithms, and programming practices.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the financial industry would be great
- Experience with writing feed handlers and market data for exchanges.
- Real-time, multi-threaded, low latency application development working with Tibco and multicast systems.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg feeds a plus (SAPI, Managed B-Pipe)
- Familiarity with Reuter’s data feeds a big plus (RFA)
- Familiarity with 3rd party C++ libraries a plus (e.g. Boost)
Non-Technical Skills:
- Candidate needs to be a self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding trading environment.
- This person should be intellectually curious, intuitive, rigorous, and trustworthy and have the highest ethical standards.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with a number of internal and external audiences in a professional manner. This person will add value by working on a number of simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through.
Education:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent (Minimum)
