Our client is searching for an experienced Development Operations Manager to lead the infrastructure production management, advanced monitoring & tooling and change management teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading these teams towards advancing the infrastructure and services as well as drive the organization towards the next generation workflows and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of leaders and high performing engineers that monitor global infrastructure systems, resolving any issues & problems as they arise (including servers, networking, circuits, storage, site and job scheduling).
  • Constantly look at new ways to optimize how systems are supported globally, always creating solutions to improve the overall supportability and scalability of infrastructure technology.
  • Identify opportunities for automating repetitive tasks and improve service levels through technology.
  • Lead the strategy to develop and shape tools as it relates to global monitoring systems, alerting systems, automation of deployments, test automations and change management.
  • Create and provide regular reporting to management & stakeholders on support metrics & SLA’s; as well as ad hoc reporting related to incident triage and post-mortems.
  • Continually innovate; reducing the technical debt across the organization


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Infrastructure Operations / DevOps experience and 5+ years of management experience handling Level 1 and 2 support issues; knowing how to prioritize incoming issues and customers accordingly.
  • Building and managing a support model providing effective application, infrastructure, geographical, time zone and user coverage.
  • Understanding the sense of urgency and taking personal responsibility for incident management and problem resolution.
  • Ability to establish, partner and maintain strong written and verbal communications with both internal technology teams and outside parties / vendors.
  • Programming knowledge in Python, but helpful to also have experience with C++, JS or Java.
  • Experience building, scheduling and deploying monitoring systems such as CI/CD systems across Linux, Windows and Cisco platforms and monitoring tools such as Internet filtering/blocking, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of IT networks including:
  • Network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls)
  • Technical depth in network services and architecture (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.)
  • Large complex network engineering experience including network certifications such as, but not limited to, Cisco Certifications (CCIE, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.)
  • Ability to work with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, Openstack.
  • Experience building services consumed by other teams.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent organizational, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and teamwork skills.
  • Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics degree.
  • Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, etc.) a plus
