The role will involve building a small team (2-3 analysts) to provide execution coverage for the stat-arb, equity long/short business and event driven groups at a world-class hedgefund. You will use existing models and tools built in-house to analyse execution performance, market impact, transaction cost analysis as well as advanced pre-trade and post trade analysis, decomposition studies, conduct studies into trading venues and analyse the toxicity of dark pools.  You will be a user of the proprietary models and in-house analytics tools and suggest improvements. You will support internal teams, mainly portfolio managers within the equities business as well as futures and other asset classes. A large portion of your time will involve working on specific research projects for portfolio managers and senior management. You will also drive the visualization efforts in order to  maximize the understanding of complex interactions and executions flows. 

Requires:

• Experience working in financial markets with focus on data, analytics and MIS for an investment bank or agency execution brokerage.
• Experience dealing with clients and working on custom research projects related to execution and analysis.
• Solid quantitative/statistical/analytics skills.
• Expertise in R for statistical analysis and Python are required. 
• Experience working with libraries such Matplotlib and other tools for data visualization highly desired.
• Excellent communication skills (needs to be able to work with QR and Trading and senior management).
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment (able to make trade-offs and do work that priorities incremental deliverables).
• High degree of motivation and strong work ethic
