Our client a rapidly growing proprietary trading firm is seeking an Experienced Trader to work in their London office. This role is primarily focused on researching, developing, operating, and optimizing their European market strategies during the European trading day. You will be working with a small team in London which is currently focused on equity related products. The position requires attention to detail, teamwork and a passion for improvement. Currently, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of financial markets trading experience, preferably in a proprietary trading environment.
Responsibilities:
- Continued development, optimization and progression of existing active strategies
- Conducting base research and quantitative analysis of European markets and market data
- New strategy idea generation, development and integration
- Active operation of strategies in response to market news and movements
- Hours 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in financial markets preferably with HFT, algorithmic trading, or comparable experience
- Ability to do light development a programming language, preferably C++, proficiency in other languages (e.g. Java, C#, C, Python, R) is desirable
- Strong mathematical aptitude, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to use good judgment and to react calmly and quickly in an electronic trading environment
- Demonstrated passion for trading
- Learns new concepts quickly
- Values teamwork and has a proven ability to cooperate with others
- Self-motivated and self-directed in personal growth and learning
- Has the ability to communicate effectively written and orally
Education:
- Degree from an accredited university preferably in a science such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field
