Our client is a leading hedgefund that focuses on statistical arbitrage and relative value trading in fixed income. The current tech stack is C++, Python, SQL, Linux. The idea is to convert a good chunk of this, particularly in relation to distributed streaming to Spark, Mesos, Akka, Cassandra and Kafka. At the moment there is no one in the team that has the above expertise so we need an evangelist who can coach the developers in Smack and make a big impact.  It's a mid-level role. 

Requirements: 

• Finance/fixed income experience is not required but nice to have. 
• Someone that can work with quants and traders 
• BS in CS with a decent GPA 
• Ideally looking for someone with 4-6 years of software engineering experience. 
• Strong understanding of the smack ecosystem.  
• Decent interpersonal skills.
