Our client is searching for an experienced Data Visualization Engineer to join their team in London. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in information visualization and design to create and deploy new platforms and services for the firm’s risk visualization initiatives. This will include the use of advanced design and development skills in JavaScript (Node.js, D3, React/Redux, WebSockets), HTML5, CSS and Tableau to create high functioning/highly integrated dynamic visualizations from a number of risk and market data sources. This role demands development on full stack, responsive applications and should involve experience and knowledge of front and back end services.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of an established, experienced development team to build best-in-class client -facing technology integrated with r/t trading platforms (cross asset classes)
- Design, develop and deploy new web applications using HTML5, JavaScript & CSS, Tableau, internal/external frameworks and 3rd party tools
- Contribute new ideas/best practices by leveraging information architecture skills to prototype new technology concepts and prove out strategic alternatives
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with business users and cross-organizational technology teams
- Provide application support of developed platforms to a global team.
Requirements:
- Strong programming skills in modern JavaScript (ES6 and above)
- Strong experience with Node.js, D3, React/Redux, WebSockets and other JavaScript frameworks and technologies
- Exposure to Tableau or other BI tools
- Solid understanding & demonstration of good Software Development Life Cycle practices
- 5 years experience in HTML5 / CSS / JavaScript
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to C#, Python, SQL, and linux environments
- Financial industry experience is preferred
Education:
- Bachelors of Science (Master Degree preferred) in engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
