Our client is looking for a Data Engineer to join their San Francisco team. You will play a critical role in managing vast amounts of data that drive the automated trading systems. You will be tasked with developing architectures that will help qualify, process, normalize, and integrate data into business-critical systems. You will be the advocate of all things data and its potential to drive the machine learning research.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrable experience with Python, SQL
- Experience with distributed systems (Condor, Hadoop, Spark) in a Linux environment
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and database schema design
- Ability to troubleshoot any performance, system, or data-related issue
- Extensive experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Previous experience in the design, optimization, and support of big-data ecosystems
- Effectively collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, and other engineers to ensure optimal data solutions and provide insight
- Have interest and enthusiasm for learning about financial markets (previous experience not required)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from a top tier university
