Our client is seeking a Data Engineering Software Developer to join their growing Technology team. Data is integral to how they make decisions, and they have a lot of data to work with. The successful candidate will help the company better leverage that data. Ideally you will have had experience building large‐scale, flexible data systems, have a strong grasp of software development fundamentals and will be effective working both the investment team and external vendors. You shall be intellectually curious, have strong problem solving skills, and a strong willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies.

High integrity is a bare minimum. No prior experience in finance is necessary. This position will be based at the headquarters in NYC.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Collect vast amounts of information from various sources
• Architect and manage end‐to‐end systems
• Parse and clean terabytes of data used for research by the investment team
• Work directly with the company’s vendors
• Experiment with and evaluate any and all technologies that can improve the processes

Suggested Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering, with 3+ years of experience
• Experience developing and working with large‐scale systems (Amazon Redshift/PostgreSQL, Apache SPARK)
• Experience with parallel processing (Spark/Python, GoLang)
• Strong general programming skills, including SQL/T‐SQL and DBMS
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to take ownership

Education

• Bachelor degree in a technical field (e.g., CS, Engineering, Math)
