Our client is seeking an experienced C++ / Linux Developer to join their accounting development team. The successful candidate will be building systems that that generate daily front-office PnL results, supply data for each fund's monthly and year-end financial statements, meet regulatory and tax reporting needs, and provide support for reconciliation and control. The developer will play a critical role in redesigning and rewriting a number of accounting modules in 2016-2017, accelerating the delivery of PnL to the desk each day, streamlining month-end and year-end processes to reduce manual effort, and transitioning from a "report-only" environment to one that incorporates live interactive views of PnL and financial statements,

Requirements:

• Medium to deep knowledge (min 3-5 years professional experience) of both C++ and SQL / relational databases, preferably on the Linux platform. 
• C++ experience should include deep knowledge of data structures, object-oriented design, STL. Experience with multithreading and C++11/C++14 features are desirable. 
• Knowledge of Perl and/or Python are desired, and C# /.NET skills will be advantageous. 
• Previous experience with Sybase IQ, Sybase ASE, and/or Microsoft SQL Server will be helpful.

Experience:

• Experience in the finance industry is preferred, as is experience interacting with accounting or with other back-office functions. 
• Developer must be willing to work directly with users to understand requirements, and translate to delivery of solutions that meet the business need. 
• Good communication skills and an ability to directly interact with the business will be important in this role. 
• Role is expected to require approximately 70% development work, 15% business interaction, and 15% support.
