Our client is searching for a C# Software Developer to work in their Chicago office. The ideal candidate is expected to provide technical expertise to support, enhance, and refresh existing and new trading desktop applications. You must demonstrate ability to analyze complex business/technical problems and make sound technical decisions proactively and in a self-directed manner. The role will utilize C#/.Net, object-oriented analysis, design, and programming to develop robust, flexible software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, development and deployment of new and existing trading applications.
- Responsible for proposing new designs and modifying existing ones to continuously improve performance, functionality, and stability of the system.
- Responsible for guiding and implementing team, firm, and industry architectural standards.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with trading desk, level 1 support, and peer technology teams.
- Provide day-to-day level 2 application support for multiple trading applications and infrastructure globally.
- Work with high volume and low latency data needs to provide Traders and Portfolio Managers real time view of Orders and Execution status
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm for programming and solid computer science fundamentals.
- 3-5 years experience in a professional software development role
- 3-5 years experience with C#3.0 and .NET framework 4.5
- Experience with PRISM framework
- Solid understanding of the Windows API and UI subsystems.
- Basic skills with enterprise infrastructure, to include SQL and scripting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with WPF technology
- Experience building GUIs
- Knowledge of financial products (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, etc…)
- Experience with real-time systems
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
