Our client is seeking an algorithmic futures trader to join the prop group in their Northern California office. The role will involve trading energy, agricultural, equity index, fixed income, foreign exchange and VIX futures on major exchanges. The role is suitable for a futures trader with a background in algorithmic market making, looking to work with cutting edge technology, excellent infrastructure for designing and testing strategies for futures, a direct relationship between your profit and bonus, an entrepreneurial culture, and a place that encourages innovation.

Responsibilities:

• New Trade Research: You will be expected to design and test new algorithmic trading strategies, with a focus on machine learning and microstructure research for market making and high volume prop trading.  
• Trading/Operations: The firm has a central market making strategy which is available for all traders to view and use. The idea is for each trader to monetize the strategy on specific markets / products. Specifically tweaking and optimizing parameters and maintaining the strategy from an operational trading perspective.  
• Collaboration: Working with other traders and developers while also managing your own book. It's not a silo'd role. Each trader is responsible for their own book, ideas while also helping colleagues with research projects, generally on new strategy designs. 

Qualifications/Experience

• BS / MS in computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning or related. 
• 3-5 years of experience trading futures in a market making environment group. 
• Strong programming skills (C++, C#, Java). 
• Tensorflow and machine learning algorithms.
• Strong grounding in linear models, ie statistical prediction and regression.
• Personality: smart, driven, intellectually curious, passionate about trading. (It's an office full of bikes, high performance hardware, hackers and traders) and we need someone that can fit into this culture.  i.e. not a corporate type.
