Our client is looking for a UI/UX Developer to join their Chicago team. You will ideally know how to build React applications that can handle complex data models while having great UI and UX design skills to support the company’s always evolving investment teams. This is a full stack responsive application focused role and should involve experience and knowledge of front and back end services.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an established, experienced development team to build best in class client facing technology platforms integrated with r/t trading paradigms (cross asset classes)
  • Design, develop and deploy new web applications using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS, internal/external frameworks, and 3rd party tools
  • Contribute new ideas/best practices to the business by providing teams with information architecture skills to prototype new technology concepts and prove out strategic alternatives
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with business users and peer technology teams
  • Provide application support to multiple businesses globally


Requirements:

  • Great at building responsive and user-friendly single-page applications in React, Redux, Webpack, HTML5, CSS
  • Solid experience in other web application frameworks and JavaScript for 3+ years
  • Knowledge of the Node.js framework
  • Exposure to build tools such as Gulp, Webpack, Babel, NPM, etc.
  • Exposure to Git for software version control
  • Exposure to testing tools like Mocha and Chai
  • Excellent Bootstrap and CSS knowledge
  • Understanding of how to debug hard problems encountered in HTTP, JavaScript, JSON, etc.
  • Back-end development knowledge is also a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • 5 years’ experience in HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • Solid knowledge of the MVC design pattern
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign desired
  • Exposure to D3 is a plus
  • Exposure to SQL, scripting languages are plusses
  • Financial industry experience is preferred


Education:

  • Bachelors of Science (Master Degree preferred) in engineering, computer science, or mathematics
