Our client is searching for a Senior Java Developer to work in their New York office. The team is organised in small, focused, agile groups, that either work closely with business units to deliver value or develop core technologies that lever the product teams. Ideally the successful candidate should have a basic understanding of the Bloomberg Terminal. You will be provided access to real time market data, dashboards, calculators and number of automated reports in support of Rates, Muni, Credit, EM and Global Desks.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering requirements from the business and working with developers on implementation detail, testing and deployment.
- Production Support
- The platform provides access to real time market data, dashboards, calculators and number of automated reports in support of multiple asset classes.
- In addition, there is also a function to support the Trading Floor by serving as a content repository of trade recommendation, market analysis and commentary, while also reducing the burden on Outlook
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent communication skills
- SQL - Oracle or any comparable database
- Java and/or python
- Bloomberg Terminal (basic understanding)
- Knowledge of financial instruments - Bonds, Futures, Options, Forwards etc. (a plus)
- Self-starter, well organized
