Our client is searching for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join them in their Chicago office. The DevOps team is constantly evaluating existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities to increase automation, improve visibility and reduce interruption. Members of the DevOps team will spend time researching best of breed solutions, determining optimal integration paths, and working closely with members of technical operations across asset classes and regions to continually advance the systems.
Responsibilities:
- Drive operational scalability and efficiencies across all asset classes and markets
- Build and improve a culture of shared responsibility, transparency, and continuous feedback
- Integrate industry and open source technologies to streamline business processes
- Promote “infrastructure as code” mentality to converge on system deployment, configuration, and monitoring that is repeatable and automatable
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant DevOps and Engineering experience
- Strong programming foundation in Python, Perl, Java, C++ or C#
- Strong background working in Linux/Unix environments
- Experience working in automation
- Previous experience with configuration management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to drive large and scalable projects
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related
Nice to have:
- Financial industry experience
- Exposure to continuous integration, deployment and release management frameworks such as Bamboo or Jenkins
- Previous experience with virtualization and container technologies
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Understanding of network protocols and TCP/IP model
